Excavations & Fieldwork
Since 2009, the Friends of Morgantina has provided essential funding to support continued archaeological excavations at the site. These excavations not only produce new insights into the ancient city’s history but also serve as a cornerstone of hands-on fieldwork training and research opportunities for students and scholars from institutions across North America and beyond.
In recent years, the FoM has provided critical funding for major research initiatives, including the Agora Valley Project and the Contrada Agnese Project, as well as investigations in the North and South Baths. Each of these projects contributes to a deeper understanding of Morgantina’s urban development, economy, and daily life.
By supporting ongoing excavations, the Friends of Morgantina plays a vital role in advancing archaeological research, training the next generation of archaeologists, and preserving this extraordinary site for future study. Your support allows us to continue this important work and share our findings with the world.
